Dr. Claudio Gallicchio is Assistant Professor at the Computer Science Department of the University of Pisa, Italy, within the Computational Intelligence & Machine Learning Group (CIML). His research interests are in the area of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, with a specific focus on Neural Networks, Recurrent Neural Networks, Randomized Neural Networks and Reservoir Computing. On the application side, Dr. Gallicchio has experience in a wide range of domains related to the processing of sequential and temporal data. Moreover, he has experience with real-world applications in the fields of wireless sensor networks, ambient assisted living, health-care, robotics, and IoT.
Claudio Gallicchio has been involved in the EU FP7 projects RUBICON and DOREMI (2011-2016). He has co-authored over 50 research papers published in international journals, conference proceedings and book chapters of Machine Learning and Computational Intelligence. According to Google Scholar, to date his papers received 628 citations, resulting in an h-index of 15. Claudio Gallicchio has participated in the organization of several international conferences. Currently, he is co-organizer of the Special Session on "Advances in Reservoir Computing" at IEEE WCCI 2018, Posters & Short papers Chair of IE 2018, organizer of the Special Session on "Randomized Neural Networks" at ESANN 2018. He serves as a technical program committee member of the major international conferences on Neural Networks and Machine Learning.
